British Origins

Established by the Loake family in 1880, the company’s roots delve deep into the heart of British craftsmanship.

Brothers John, William, and Thomas originally set up shop in an outbuilding of Thomas’ family home in Kettering, Northamptonshire, a town renowned for its rich history in shoemaking. By 1894 the operation had expanded to a factory on Wood Street, which remains the brand’s headquarters and production base to this day.

Loake has been a family-run business for five generations now, ensuring that their tradition of expert shoemaking lives on within each shoe. The brand has made a lasting mark on the English footwear industry, having supplied boots for the British Army during both world wars and receiving accolades from Her Majesty the Queen herself. They have never strayed far from their hometown even after enjoying international success and expansion. In addition to their original Wood Street factory, Loake’s fulfillment warehouse is also located in Kettering.

“It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.”
